Privacy Policy

Bavelo GST Billing (“Bavelo”, “the app”, “we”) is a billing and inventory app for shopkeepers. This policy explains what the app stores, what it never does, and the few times it talks to Google on your behalf. In plain terms: Bavelo is an offline app, your business data lives on your own phone, and we do not run a server that holds it.

1. Data the app stores on your device

Everything you enter — invoices, quotations, parties (customers and suppliers), items and stock, payments, expenses, your firm details, GSTIN, logo and signature — is stored only in a database on your phone. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the app removes this data from the phone.

2. Signing in with Google (optional)

Signing in is optional; the app works fully without it. If you choose to sign in, Google shares your name and email address with the app, and these are stored only on your phone so the app can show whose phone it is and offer to restore your backup. We do not receive your Google password, and your name and email are never sent to us or to anyone else.

3. Google Drive backup (optional)

If you choose to back up, the app saves a single backup file to your own Google Drive. Two things matter here:

• The app uses the drive.file permission only. This means it can see and manage only the files it itself creates in your Drive. It cannot read, open or list any of your other Drive files, photos or documents.
• The backup lives in your Drive, under your Google account. We do not have a copy and cannot access it. Restoring on a new phone happens by signing in to the same Google account.

4. Advertising

Bavelo shows banner advertisements supplied by Google AdMob to keep the app free. To serve and measure these ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use your device’s Advertising ID together with related information such as your approximate (non-precise) location, device type and in-app interaction events. Ads appear only on browsing screens — they are never shown on your invoices, bills or print output.

This advertising data is collected and processed by Google, not by us: we do not receive it and we do not use it to identify you. You can reset or opt out of your Advertising ID at any time in your phone’s Settings → Google → Ads. How Google uses data from apps that use its advertising services is described in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”. Your Google Sign-In and Google Drive backup data (Sections 2 and 3) are never used for advertising.

5. Device permissions

• Camera — only when you scan a barcode to add or find an item. No photos are stored or sent.
• Bluetooth — only to connect to a thermal receipt printer you pair.
• Notifications — only to remind you of payments that are due, generated on the phone.
• Files / storage — only to save a backup file you create, or to open a backup file you pick to restore.

6. What we do not do

• We do not run a server that stores your business data.
• We do not sell or rent your business data, and we never share your invoices, parties or stock with anyone.
• We run no analytics of our own; the only third party involved is Google AdMob, for the advertising described in Section 4.
• We do not build a profile of you.

7. Children

Bavelo is a business tool intended for shop owners and is not directed at children.

8. Data retention and deletion

Business data stays on your phone until you delete it or uninstall the app. A backup you created stays in your Google Drive until you delete it there. To remove a backup, open Google Drive, find the Bavelo backup file and delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change.
